Modern CNC furniture

Yrjö Kukkapuro became interested in computer-aided woodworking in the early 2000s. He saw the cutting of mass-produced shapes as similar to the process that took place at tailoring table of his mother. Patterns are composed precisely, without causing waste. In addition, Kukkapuro was inspired by the unlimited artistic possibilities of cnc milling, to be able to create any kind of shape in serial production, even “squirrel-shaped”.

The visual appearance of the CNC chair collection is a continuation of his postmodern 80s thinking, where aesthetics and ergonomics meet. The product line is youthful, comfortable to sit on and suitable for a wide range of environments. Photo: Henrik Enbom.

CNC chairs can be found, for example, in the public spaces of the Oodi central library in Helsinki
